Set and Setting

It’s natural to be nervous beforehand. Taking a nap in the afternoon the day of will help you feel refreshed, alert and the medicine itself prevents drowsiness. Blasting off Friday or
Saturday around midnight is good as no one is going to bother you and you’ll have all weekend or Sunday for a relaxing re-entry.

Shop for food earlier in the day and get simple nourishment. Bread and cheese, fruit, chai
or ginger tea (in thermos), cranberry juice, sparkling water, chocolate and flowers. Frozen or prepared food for post journey will make things nice and easy. You can put some of it out on the kitchen counter before you begin so it’s ready without effort.

Fast beforehand or eat and drink but stop 3 hours before launch. The less you consume the less likely you’ll be bothered by bathroom breaks as the medicine can induce cleansing. Use eyeshades/blindfold, headphones, and device to play the soundtrack. You can use your phone but turn off all notifications, alarms and disable incoming calls. Make sure it’s fully charged or plugged in.

Make your bed or wherever very cozy with pillows, cushions and furs. Wear clean clothes
that are warm and comfortable and set the thermostat to around 70°F. Use battery powered tea lights or candles to place in the bathroom, the kitchen and altar but in general try to keep any lighting off. You can say good wishes, intentions, and prayers as you take the medicine and light some incense or disperse essential oils to make your space very pleasant.

Sometimes you may be suffering from a physical ailment or chronic condition that prevents you from feeling well all the time. In some sense, you may be possessed by negative emotions or even spirits or deities that keep you sick. Consider reaching out to these phantoms that need your attention. Invite them to come with you in your healing journey and help them feel better as you work to become whole.

LSD or shrooms are good to use at an amount that feels right. If you choose to include MDMA you can measure out a half dose into a cup and lay a note on top that reads MDMA – 6AM, then set it aside in the kitchen. At about the 6-hour mark – the end of Intervening 2, let the soundtrack keep playing and go pour some tea or sparkling water into the cup and drink it down. This helps to smooth out any rough edges going into the final, higher chakra vibes for a pleasant and satisfying completion.

Take a bathroom break, stretch and lie back down or move your body. Just keep the music playing till finished. At the end you can eat a little if hungry and chill out listening to music, no music or something else, see below. When you’re ready, take a shower, maybe, then go outside for a morning walk on a trail, in a park or quiet neighborhood. This can be very satisfying. Keep your interactions with others simple until you feel a little more grounded, and avoid talking with friends or family until the evening or the next day.

Locate some favorite movies, concert footage, cosmological or other documentaries to have ready to view for post journey lounging. This will be a good time for cannabis if you want. Going to a yoga class, a massage or hot tub can be wonderful if you are up for it.

Make notes about time and dosage, what worked and didn’t for set and setting and also,
about your ride. What intuitive messages arise about your desires such as getting along
better with others, developing more discipline or new directions you could take in your life. It can take several days or more to return to baseline so take it easy.

One final thing, if you listen to the soundtrack a few times again over the days following
your journey you may be intensely reminded of some very meaningful facets of your
experience. Your heart may ache with joy and gratitude bringing you to tears. Let it flow.
